Spring Break Breaks Spring

Uh oh! Spring break played with the warm weather a little too hard, and accidentally broke spring for everyone else. Now instead of having a few months of beautiful flowers and mild rains, Iowa will be jumping from freezing cold days and sleet straight to scorching hot days and tornadoes.
Now that spring break is over and can’t break anything more, some Iowans are attempting to fix as much of spring as possible to still enjoy these next few months. Spring repair methods include wearing shorts and a long-sleeved shirt outside, setting up hammocks on all available trees, and standing on a front porch with your hands on your hips, taking a deep breath, and saying, “Yep. Smells like rain.” All having varying degrees of success.
There are rumors on the street that this happens literally every year, and that spring break breaking spring is clearly nothing new. Despite this, we want to make sure our readers stay as up to date as possible with these wacky weather patterns. We will continue to report on spring break’s mistakes year after year until they learn their lesson.
