Representation Win! University of Iowa Shows Support For Non-Binary Students, Renames Herky “Themky”

It’s an exciting day at the University of Iowa, as the school’s administration is finally showing support for non-binary students by renaming the Hawkeyes’ beloved mascot in their honor.

“We think it’s about time we do something for a part of our student body who have so far felt underrepresented,” says University spokesperson, Austin Adrian. “We hope that this gesture will be everything they need to let the healing begin.”

When asked what other initiatives the University plans to do to help their non-binary students feel included, Adrian stared blankly for a solid minute before evaporating into a puff of smoke.
