ICON Gold Subscription Service to Launch Next Fall Semester

The University of Iowa has recently announced an exciting new venture for students this upcoming academic year: a brand new rehaul of ICON for just a small price.
ICON Gold will be available to students starting this next fall. Features will include a prioritized ICON messaging board that will require teachers to acknowledge your message, or receive a penalty. Students can also delay certain assignments for up to a week past their turn in (with no hit to your grade!).
Some leaks have revealed there may also be a Herky AI chatbot that can help with managing your assignments, anxiety, and schedule for future semesters. The University has released no official statement on the matter, but some students claim it is probably hidden somewhere (just like previous AI policy).
Some students have been uncertain about this new addition. “Maybe it’s just different with dining plans, but I don’t like the idea that some people can pay a little more for a better educational experience,” one first-year commented.
“I’m not worried about it,” Third-year Aiden Trohl added, “When HerkAI starts giving people fake classes in rooms that don’t exist, people will be less likely to upgrade their ICON.”
For only $399 a semester, you too can test drive the new program! The Doily Allergen does not consider this article an official endorsement, and any legal action taken against ICON Gold will be closely followed by our impartial news.
